XEOMIN

Xeomin is a prescription medicine injected into muscles to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe upper facial lines in adults, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. It is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, a neuromuscular blocker.

1. Treatment of Chronic Drooling (Sialorrhea): XEOMIN effectively manages long-lasting drooling in both adults and children aged 2 to 17 years by targeting the glands responsible for saliva production.

2. Management of Muscle Stiffness in the Arm:

   • In Adults, XEOMIN helps alleviate increased muscle stiffness in the arm due to upper limb spasticity.
   • In Children (2 to 17 years): XEOMIN addresses muscle stiffness in the arm, excluding cases caused by cerebral palsy.

3. Relief for Cervical Dystonia (CD): XEOMIN is an effective solution for abnormal head position and neck pain associated with cervical dystonia, providing much-needed relief for adults.

4. Treatment for Blepharospasm: XEOMIN effectively targets abnormal eyelid spasms in adults, offering a solution for improved comfort and functionality.

    

   Storage Ability of XEOMIN

   XEOMIN, once reconstituted, should be stored in the original container in a refrigerator at temperatures between 2°C - 8°C (36°F - 46°F) for up to 24 hours until it is time for use. It is important to administer the reconstituted XEOMIN within this time frame and discard any unused portion after one injection session.

   Guidelines for Use

   1. Reconstitution: Before injection, each vial of XEOMIN must be reconstituted with sterile, preservative-free 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP. A needle of appropriate gauge (20-27 gauge) is recommended for this process.

   2. Injection Sites: XEOMIN is intended for intramuscular or intra-salivary gland injection only. The number of injection sites depends on the size of the muscle being treated and the volume of reconstituted XEOMIN injected.

   3. Single-Dose Vials: Each vial is for single-dose use only; any unused portion should be discarded immediately after administration.

   4. Timing Between Treatments: Repeat treatments should not occur sooner than every 12 to 16 weeks, depending on the specific condition being treated.

   5. Caution in Administration: Care should be taken when injecting near sensitive structures such as arteries or organs, and healthcare providers should be familiar with the patient’s anatomy.
